Dear all,
For the holiday season, I have been making necklaces from my original art and ornaments out of rusted tin and gold leaf! I am hand embellishing each piece with a little paint and/or gold leaf. Again, it’s a family affair…my husband, Todd, has gotten into it by helping me with the jewelry, while Evelyn marched right into my studio picked up my glittery paintbrush and started painting directly on the ornaments! I wasn’t planning on using the shimmer paint but it actually turned out better than I’d planned! I even enlisted my mom with her special sewing skills to help make unique gifts. My friend, Samantha thought of this clever idea to make wine gift bags with the ornaments attached. They make for a great hostess gift, etc.
So, please join us for a relaxing, fun day of art at my studio located at our home on Imaginary Road this Saturday. If you aren’t able to make it on Saturday, the following day, Sunday, I will be showing at my dear, talented friend, Suzanne Connor’s home. Then on Friday night, the Art Affair takes place here at the Co-op. If you’ve never been it’s so well worth it! The drive is beautiful on the canopy roads and the event itself is wonderful with many talented local artists and craftsman’s wares. I found the best hand-knitted hats last year, one for myself and one for Evelyn that I adore. |
