Growing Wild…
A Profusion of Wild Flowers. Inspired by flower meadows growing wild and free, drenched in color, reminiscent of magical days of youth. Sunshine, warmth, and summertime are felt in my latest paintings.
This summer we spent time in Colorado with my sister and her family. If you’ve ever been to Colorado in the summer you’ll know how prolific the wild flowers grow! Amazing bursts of color, growing wild, with the magnificent mountains as the backdrop inspired me. Larkspur, queen Anne’s lace, thistle, daisies, fairy trumpets, red clover, buttercups, dandelions, all find their way into my latest work. We also drove to South Carolina to beach it for a week with family. Along the way we stopped at a country store where they sell jellies, jams and candied pecans to get a treat. Hidden beyond a bend in the road I discovered acres of tall sunflowers lazing in the wind. Luckily, I took pictures on my travels!
Please join me for a reception in Monticello’s Jefferson Arts Gallery on Saturday, September 1st, from 2-4pm. I have lots of new work in a variety of sizes for sale. The show will be up for the month of September
