This week my 48×60″Grandmother’s Tulips” above found a home (sold at Suzannz Down Under)! This painting was inspired by my sweet grandmother’s tulip painting below.  When she passed away last January, I saw many of her paintings that I’d never seen before and this one struck me. She was an extraordinary and prolific artist and a beautiful person. She had five children. Here is an exerpt of her artist statement:
“I attempt to paint the beauty I see in ordinary things.  Nature in its glory and endurance renews my spirit and gives me hope for the continuation of the world in spite of its problems. I want to make my paintings an expression of the emotion I feel from the enduring forms and colors of the world around me.”
